Terms and Conditions
- The Optus Wireless Connect Employee Plans are only available under special offers to full-time or part- time employees of an Optus approved corporate or government entity. Excludes Optus resellers, customers and contractors of those Optus approved corporate or government entities.
- If Optus accept your application to purchase a maximum of two connections under this promotion you agree to connect to the Optus Wireless Connect Service on these terms and subject to the conditions of Optus’ relevant standard agreement.
- Each application will be made in the employee’s name.
- Your application is subject to an Optus credit assessment, and acceptance.
- Included WiFi coverage is in range of an Optus Wireless Connect Zone (refer to www.optus.com.au/connectzones for current locations) or Azure Hotspots (refer to www.azure.com.au/hotspots for current locations). Optus reserves the right to add or remove hotspots without notice and may add or remove ‘roaming partners’ without notice. If the Data Card is conducting a handover between networks, you may experience short periods of time (eg. 1 minute) in which data will not transfer. Actual data speed can vary depending on your computer’s configuration and capacity, the capability and load of the sites visited, which bearer you are currently using (GSM, 3G, WiFi), the variable nature of the Internet and the amount of simultaneous usage on the Optus network. - All prices quoted are GST inclusive, unless otherwise stated.
- Optus Wireless Connect plans are available as month to month, 12 month or 24 month plans. Data usage will be calculated as a combined total of uploads and downloads measured in Kilobytes (KB). For all purposes 1Megabyte (MB) = 1,024 Kilobytes (KB). The Optus Wireless Connect application shows approximate megabytes only. Actual megabyte usage will depend on a number of factors including which network is currently being used. If you exceed your data plan monthly included usage allowance for Optus Wireless Connect service in any billing period, an excess usage rate of $0.30 per MB will apply. Unused data allowance in any month cannot be rolled into subsequent months. You are not able to view your monthly usage prior to receiving your bill. Optus Wireless Connect plans may only be used as a data plan. This offer excludes services including Optus Zoo, Voice calls, International voice calls, VoiceMail, SMS, International SMS, premium and Third Party SMS, MMS, International MMS, 1300, 1900 and other services.
- The minimum total cost is as follows: $28.50 for the Optus Wireless Connect Month to Month 100MB plan, $38.50 for the Optus Wireless Connect Month to Month 200MB plan, $68.50 for the Optus Wireless Connect Month to Month 500MB plan, $128.50 for the Optus Wireless Connect Month to Month 2GB plan, $342 for the Optus Wireless Connect 12 Month 100MB plan, $462 for the Optus Wireless Connect 12 Month 200MB plan, $822 for the Optus Wireless 12 Month 500MB plan, $1,542 for the Optus Wireless Connect 12 Month 2GB plan, $684 for the Optus Wireless Connect 24 Month 100MB plan, $924 for the Optus Wireless Connect 24 Month 200MB plan, $1,644 for the Optus Wireless 24 Month 500MB plan, $3,084 for the Optus Wireless Connect 24 Month 2GB plan , plus the cost of your Data Card, if any, plus applicable Cancellation Fees.
- If you are connected to a 12 month plan and the service is cancelled in the first six months you pay a fixed cancellation fee of $145, $175, $245, $275 on the 100MB, 200MB, 500MB, 2GB Optus Wireless Connect data plans respectively and then a pro rata reduction of that amount as follows: terminations between month 7-9, 70% of the termination fee, months 10-12, 40% of the termination fee. If you are connected to a 24 month plan and the service is cancelled in the first 12 months you pay a fixed cancellation fee of $245, $275, $345, $375 on the 100MB, 200MB, 500MB, 2GB Optus Wireless Connect data plans respectively and then a pro rata reduction of that amount as follows: 13-15, 80% of the termination fee, months 16-18, 60% of the termination fee, months 19-21, 40% of the termination fee, for months 22-24, 20% of the termination fee.
- You may purchase a new Data Card by paying the cost of an Optus Wireless Connect Data Card upfront, or over 12 or 24 months. For Optus Business customers on a month to month option, payments over a 12 or 24 month plan are not available. If you choose to pay the cost of your Data Card by the monthly payment option and the service is cancelled for any reason you will be required to pay the remaining amount owing on your Data Card, if any.
- Optus Wireless Connect data plans are only available for use on Optus Data Cards or compatible PC cards approved by Optus.
- Usage charges will apply when Optus Wireless Connect is transferring data over the Optus GSM, 3G, Optus WiFi or Azure Wireless (or other roaming partners as advised by Optus from time to time) or when ‘MIP-enabled’ is selected on the PC application (MIP-enabled allows for seamless roaming between different bearers).
- When overseas, International Data Roaming usage charges apply as extra (for charges refer to www.optus.com.au/international under ‘GPRS roaming’ section). Some Data Cards are incompatible with networks in some countries. Please refer to the list of countries Optus supports on www.optus.com.au/international.
Software Requirements
You must have Microsoft Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating system to connect to the service. Subject to your rights under the Trade Practices Act, Optus does not make any warranty regarding the software of data provided to you as it operates on your computer and interacts with your other applications.
