International SMS from Australia are charged at 35¢ per message
of 160 characters.

VoiceMail retrieval Peak: 7am-7pm, Monday to Saturday, 16.5¢ per 30 seconds.

Operator Assistance and 1800/1900 numbers Public network rates plus an airtime surcharge of:
Peak: 7am-8pm Monday to Saturday, 11¢ per 30 seconds.
Off-Peak: All other times 5.5¢ per 30 seconds.
124YES Directory Assistance that connects you to most directory numbers with one call. Charged at $1.10 per call, plus standard mobile rates for the duration of the call.
Directory Assistance 1223 Charged at a flat rate of 50¢ per call.

Terms and Conditions

General Terms and Conditions:

  1. This is an invitation from Optus Mobile Pty Ltd (Optus) to apply for the Optus Icon Plans. The terms of Optus' current Standard Agreement for Mobile Digital Service will apply to your use of the Optus Mobile Service. Ability to participate is subject to Optus credit assessment.
  2. The Optus Icon Plans are only available under special offers to full-time or part-time employees of an Optus approved corporate or government entity. Excludes Optus resellers, customers and contractors of those Optus approved corporate or government entities.
  3. If Optus accepts your application to purchase a maximum of two mobile phone connections under this promotion you agree to connect to the Optus Mobile Digital Service on these terms and subject to the conditions of Optus' relevant standard agreement.
  4. Each application will be made in the employee's name. The employee ('You') agrees to pay: (a) the monthly access fee applicable to the Optus Icon plan that you have activated to; (b) for calls made from your mobile service during this agreement.
  5. 24 month connection to the Optus Icon 15 with a monthly access fee of $15. Minimum total cost over 24 months is $360.
  6. 24 month connection to the Optus Icon 25 with a monthly access fee of $25 for the Nokia 6121. Minimum total cost over 24 months for the Nokia 6121 is $600.
  7. 24 month connection to the Optus Icon 35 with a monthly access fee of $35 for the Nokia 6500 Classic. Minimum total cost over 24 months for the Nokia 6500 Classic is $840. All Optus Icon Plans: Call costs additional. Early cancellation fees apply.
  8. Optus Icon plans unused included monthly credit expire at the end of each month.
  9. A minimum 24 months connection is required for each customer's connection to the Optus Icon Plan.
  10. Included call credits excludes some call types. These are indicated in the Optus Standard Agreement and include international roaming, Directory Assistance, WAP and Data calls, fax calls, Web SMS, Group SMS, Email SMS, 'yes' info updates, services including #121#, 1800 and 1900 calls. Unused included credit will expire each month. Unused credit is not refundable even at account closure.
  11. If within 12 months of the date of Optus' acceptance of your application, or other stipulated time by Optus, you terminate, or are disconnected or suspended for any reason (including if your mobile is lost or stolen), or switch carriers you agree to pay Optus and agree that Optus may debit your account with an additional amount of $110 for the Optus Icon 15 plan; $374 for the Optus Icon 25 plan and $638 for the Optus Icon 35 Plan. After 12 months cancellation fees are tiered as follows: for cancellation between months 13-15, 80% of the Maximum cancellation Fee; for cancellation between months 16-18, 40% of the Maximum Cancellation Fee; and for cancellation between months 22-24, 20% of the Maximum Cancellation Fee.
  12. The Optus Icon 15 plan is only available to customers who already have a handset.
  13. To participate in the Optus Icon plan you must pay Optus by Direct Debit. If you stop paying via Direct Debit the cancellation charge will become payable.
  14. *'yes'Time: The first 20 minutes per call is free when the call is made within Australia by an Optus Mobile Digital (GSM) customer to mobile users on the Optus Mobile Digital (GSM) between 8pm to midnight every night. Some call types are excluded including VoiceMail retrievals, diversion calls, International Roaming, Optus Zoo, 'yes'info, WAPService, MobileSat, 'yes'info Updates and 1900 calls. Usage of 'yes'Time is subject to the Optus Fair Go™ policy. Optus reserves the right to cease 'yes'Time without notice. 'yes'Time only applies to calls: made and received within Australia between 8pm and midnight, from one Optus Mobile Digital Customer to another (on Optus GSM network) for no charge for the first 20 minutes per call, after which standard mobile rates of your eligible plan apply.
  15. This offer is only available to customers who connect to the Optus Icon plan before 30/09/07. This handset offer is only valid until 30/09/07.

Optus 3G Service:

  1. Use of Optus 3G Service only available with compatible handsets. Video Calling is only available between video capable handsets within 3G coverage area. If you or the other person on the video call move out of the 3G coverage area, your video call will drop out and you will only have the option to call the person back with a voice call.
  2. To access 3G services you must be in a 3G coverage area. Optus' 3G network coverage is available in selected areas of Sydney, Melbourne, Geelong, Canberra, Brisbane CBD and Brisbane airport, Adelaide airport and Perth airport. For coverage details please see www.optus.com.au/coverage.
  3. Actual network speeds both upload and download may vary dependent on the type of device in use, location and the number of users accessing the network at any given time. Speeds refer to maximum download speeds. Upload speeds will be lower than download speeds.

Text Message (SMS) Terms and Conditions:

Message charges may be incurred for up to eight days from the original send date regardless of successful delivery or not. International text messages are charged at 35¢ per message.

Optus MMS and Optus Email MMS Terms and Conditions:

  1. International MMS is charged at 75¢. Charges apply per message sent per recipient regardless of successful delivery or not.
  2. Optus Email MMS is charged at 60¢ per message sent (one message can be sent to multiple recipients) regardless of successful delivery or not.
  3. If an MMS message is sent to a mobile handset or network that is not MMS enabled or compatible, message recipient will be sent an SMS message. You will still be charged for sending an MMS.

Optus Zoo General:

Optus Zoo activation time may take up to 24 hours. Optus will endeavour to provide current, accurate information but takes no warranty regarding the timely delivery, currency, or accuracy of any information provided to you as part of the Optus Zoo Update service. Additional data charges may apply to access and subscribe to third party content. Content may be suspended, changed, or terminated without notice.

MyZooNow:

Optus is not responsible for third party content, and sites may be subject to change. Additional charges may apply to access and subscription to third party content. Content is tailored for viewing on Optus 3G and may not include all content and features of Internet websites.

Content Packs:

Customers are able to opt out of Content Packs at any time during their contract.

MyStatus:

Customers need to invite or give explicit permission to share MyStatus information. You pay for the data according to your plan when using MyStatus over Optus Zoo WAP. Optus accepts no liability for any loss or damage for customers using the service and bears no responsibility for message content and recommends customers to not disclose their personal details.

Mobile IM:

Customers will need to sign up and receive user credentials from MSN Messenger and/or Yahoo! Messenger on the Internet. Customers will need to have a Mobile IM compatible handset. Optus Fair Go™ Policy applies.

FindA:

Only available on XHTML supported handsets. Optus is not responsible for third party content, and sites may be subject to change. Content is tailored for viewing on Optus 3G and may not include all content and features of Internet websites. When using FindMe or Directions, your location is not stored or relayed to Optus or any of its content partners at any time while you are using the service. Customers may unsubscribe from the FindA monthly option at any time, however will not have unused amount from monthly option refunded.
